When it comes to fitness, there are lots of things you can do to achieve success. But if there’s one universal thing that our personal trainers tell our clients, it’s this: consistency. The journey toward a healthier you starts with consistency, which is truly the key to fitness success.

Success in fitness doesn’t come from a perfect diet or overworking your body, it comes from showing up and committing to your goals at the gym over a long period of time.

1. Manage Your Time Better

Fitting the gym into your schedule means that you need to make it a priority and find time for it! Of course, this all means managing your time better to ensure you’re being consistent enough to achieve fitness success!

2. Exercise Regularly

Results don’t happen overnight. Going to the gym once a week isn’t enough to see results, so the more you head to the gym, the better! And for months on end it is important! Create a schedule so that you hold yourself accountable. Treat your workouts like non-negotiable appointments. 

3. Eat a Balanced Diet

Working out isn’t enough! You need to eat the right amount of all food groups daily to ensure you’re getting enough carbs, protein, minerals, and vitamins. Your body needs fuel so make sure to feed it! Talk to one of our personal trainers who can give you advice to create a diet that works for you.

4. Rest And Sleep Are Important Too!

But working out isn’t enough either. Good sleep is essential for you to be energized and ready for the gym. Not only does your body need the recharge, but it also needs to rest from working out. When you stretch your muscles too much and continue to put pressure on them, you can seriously get injured. So, visiting the gym consistently during the week means results, but you shouldn’t work out every day – 4 to 5 days a week is ideal!

5. Track Your Progress

Keeping a schedule means knowing when you last visited the gym, but also how many days a week you’ve visited. Knowing what exercises you did is also important so that you don’t overwork the same part of your body and instead, change it up. 

You can use different methods. Maybe a journal or fitness app to monitor your workouts and nutrition. Seeing progress, even in small amounts, can be incredibly motivating!
